Taleb Rokabey, the Olympic Coach of the Iraqi Ping Pong Team and member
of the Iraqi National Sports League talks about the saddest day of his when
twenty men dressed in police uniforms came and captured Ahmed Hajey, the
Past-President of the Iraqi Olympic Committee.
The Fasilie Soccer team in Amman has recruited Iraqi players including Avleen
Najeeb and Haedan Abedamer. They have also enlisted their Head Coach Adnan Hamed,
who left Bagdad after American troops destroyed his home. Avleen is one of the Arab
Leagues top ranked Soccer players. He played in Iraq for the Cutor League, until a
year after the war began. He immigrated to Jordan after insurgents attempted to
kidnap and assassinate him. After he arrived he was recruited to play for the
Fasilie Club. Haedan is a former teammate of the top ranked Iraqi Zawra Club. He
came to Jordan with his family during the war.
Adnan Hamed is the Head Coach of the Faisli Soccer team in Amman, Jordan. He was a
former soccer player and head coach in Iraq. Adnan left the country with his family
after American troops broke in and ransacked his home as a result of neighbors
accusing him of being a terrorist.
Ahmed Radey is the President of the Iraqi Zawra Soccer team. He fled to Jordan with
his wife and children after receiving death threats. Mr. Radey offers his advice to
American's and the American Government about winning the war in Iraq.
